Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig follow up Greenberg with this black and white comedy in the mould of 70s era Woody Allen. Will the ditz and pretension grate or will Frances win your heart?
A young family move into an old house, spooky stuff happens – who’d a thunk it? If this runs to form then you might as well wait for the third installment (as they tend to be better than number 2 but not as good as the first).
WHAT MAISIE KNEW:
Personally that title makes me want to run for the hills but the critics have enjoyed this drama – a modern take on the Henry James novel where we see the fall-out of a custody battle from the viewpoint of the child. Starring Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgård and Steve Coogan.
THE TASTE OF MONEY:
Tastes like… Victory. No, thats not right, I have no idea what money tastes like. This promises to be a slick and soapy ride into the midst of a powerful South Korean corporate-crime family obsessed with sex, money, and intrigue.
Cert. 18 Korean with English subs.
